Financial Management for Small Businesses

March 22, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - April 5, 2021 @ 8:00 pm

This workshop is aimed at entrepreneurs who own or are close to launching a small business and want to learn more about financial management

Summary

This three-part series covers financial management for small businesses, including budgeting and bookkeeping, creating and using the three financial statements, doing cash flow analysis, the types of financing, and how to get loan ready. The sessions are hands-on and participatory, so come ready to engage with your instructor and your peers. It’s organized as a cohort, so you’ll sign up once for all three sessions.

Audience

This workshop is aimed at entrepreneurs who own or are close to launching a small business and want to learn more about financial management. The more actual financials you have to apply the concepts to, the more concrete and useful you’ll find the material. Therefore, this course is likely not appropriate for entrepreneurs who are still defining their business idea and/or are far from launching.

Logistics*

The course will be from 6-8pm on the following dates:

Monday, March 22nd: Budgeting & Bookkeeping

Monday, March 29th: Financial statements & cash flow analysis

Monday, April 5th: Financing options & panel of local bankers and financiers

*Registration is for the entire 3-part series, NOT individual events.

Each session will last approximately 2 hours including time for discussion and questions.

What to expect

The content is practical. You’ll be able to apply what you’ve learned to your own business and can ask questions of our on-call accountant after the sessions.

The material will be challenging if you’re new to the topics, especially cash flow analysis. You’ll be provided with a coursebook you can use to take notes and reference later. Be prepared to ask questions.

The sessions are participatory. Keep your camera on, if you can, and be ready to discuss concepts and do activities in breakout rooms.

After registering, you will receive an email from Eventbrite with a link to access the webinar. Please save this email and be sure to check your SPAM folder if you don’t see it in your email inbox.
